On 22nd April 21, the Department's IT team rolled out upgrades to the SAS & Authorised Prescriber Online System.
The upgrades improved storage capability and included minor enhancements to the navigation of the portal as well as changes to state specific forms to reflect legislative amendment in those jurisdictions.
Following implementation of the upgraded portal some IT problems were experienced. This together with an overnight ‘outage’ period created a backlog of applications.
AMCA has been informed by Adjunct Prof John Skerritt (Deputy Secretary for Health Products Regulation, Department of Health) that the the IT issues which contributed to this backlog have been fully rectified and the TGA continues to meet the timeframe of 2 working days to decision for medicinal cannabis applications submitted via the online portal, provided all relevant information to make a decision is provided.
If you are experiencing any delays in SAS-B or Authorise Prescriber approvals, please let us know.
